Harley-Davidson , often abbreviated H-D or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the first decade of the 20th century, it was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. William S. Harley and Arthur and Walter Davidson founded the American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley-Davidson in 1903.

The company produces traditional cruiser motorcycles with V-Twin engines. Popular models of Harley Davidson include the Sportster, Road King, Electra Glide, Dyna Glide and Softail. The company sells heavyweight (over 750 cc) motorcycles designed for cruising on highways. Harley-Davidson motorcycles (popularly known as "Harleys") have a distinctive design and exhaust note. They are especially noted for the tradition of heavy customization that gave rise to the chopper style of motorcycle.

In 2010, Harley finally entered India by setting-up subsidiary located at Gurgaon with 12 Motorcycles namely Sportster, Dyna, VRSC, Softail and CVO. Initially Harley decided the bikes will be imported as CBUs and thus attracting over 100% tax, later they started an assembly line for CKD units which is the second such facility outside USA.
