Rolls-Royce Limited was founded by a partnership between Henry Royce and C.S. Rolls in 1906. The current car division that manufactures only cars is known as Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Founded in 1998 by Vickers, it is now a subsidiary of BMW AG.
Exhibited in 2003 at Detroit's North American International Auto Show, Rolls-Royce Phantom is the first model from Rolls-Royce Motor cars having no relation with the main Rolls-Royce Company except for the trademark.
