Ford Motor Company is the fourth largest automobile manufacturer in the world. Founded by Henry Ford, in June 1903, the American MNC has its reach across the world. Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, it is best known for unmatched quality in the engineering of its vehicles. Ford is the second largest automaker in the U.S. and the fifth-largest in the world based on annual vehicle sales in 2010. Ford is the eighth-ranked overall American-based company in the 2010 Fortune 500 list, based on global revenues in 2009 of $118.3 billion. The main subsidaries of the company include Daimler, Edsel, Ford, Jaguar, Lanchester, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Merkur, Rover and Volvo.
