Followed by the launch of CBZ and Karizma, India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer, Hero Honda has launched a 150 cc bike called Achiever. It comes with two variants, kick-start and self-start and has twin rear shocks and apparent air-skoops in the front below the fuel tank. The capacity of the fuel tank is12.5 litres with usable hold back of 2.3 litres. The high capacity of the fuel tank makes the bike rural friendly as petrol pumps are rare in the rural areas.
The Achiever is equipped with a four-stroke engine constructed of aluminium- alloy with an air- cooled, and twin-valve equipped motor, of 149.1cc displacement. The bike uses the conventional suspension set-up of telescopic shock absorbers up front and rectangular swing arm with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
The 5-spoke black coloured cast wheel, its body coloured rear grip and the graphics give the150cc bike an attractive look. The dual tone graphics on the petrol tank; multi-reflector headlight with halogen lamp and a position lamp; multi-reflector tail lights and winkers; uniquely designed muffler with heat shield and dual tone painted chain case; and tuff-up tube to add to the rider's convenience and confidence are the other features of the Achiever.
Achiever scores high on a mileage front, when compared to 150cc bike. It delivers an impressive 51.3 kpl in real city conditions and 55.3 kpl on the highway. The achiever is available in seven colours, including magnetic blue and spring violet.
