Even as the domestic two-wheeler industry reeling under high interest rates and credit squeeze, Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) today reported a 29.5 per cent growth in sales at 3,70,575 units in April this year, compared to 2,86,252 two-wheelers sold in the same month last year. ''We continue to lead the unit volume growth in the industry despite the adverse and challenging environment. This growth has been driven by our customer-focused approach and our strong brands,'' HHML Sr Vice President (Marketing & Sales) Anil Dua said in a statement. The leading two-wheeler manufacturer's turnover grew to Rs 12,356.88 crore in FY09, a growth of 19.22 per cent over Rs 10,364.54 crore recorded over the last fiscal. The new models--including variants and refreshes-- that Hero Honda launched in FY'09 have been driving volumes for the company, the statement said. |
