| Maruti Suzuki to launch Kizashi early next
year

| Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest automaker, is all set to enter in the executive segment through its new car ''Kizashi'' which is expected to be launched early next year. The car, which is expected to be priced at about Rs 12 lakh, will be fitted with a 2 litre petrol engine. It will come in manual as well as automatic transmission, according to the sources. Kizashi, which was showcased in Delhi Auto Expo 2010, is likely to have a six speed transmission and large 21 inch alloys. It will be in the D segment of car market where it will compete with models like Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corrolac and the upcoming Volkswagen Jetta. Kizashi will be the first of the several new launches the company is planning in 2011, including a refreshed version of its popular cars Swift and Dzire and a small sports utility vehicle. Kizashi, launched in Europe in 2007, is a new model developed this year, the sources adeded. The car is likely to be produced at the company's Manesar facility in Haryana. Maruti is setting up two new plants at Manesar in Haryana with an investment of Rs 3,750 crore that will take its installed production capacity to 17.5 lakh units by 2013. |
