Tata Motors global sales up 18 pc at 86,705 units in Oct

Auto major Tata Motors today said its global vehicle sales rose 18 per cent at 86,705 units in October over the same month last year.

''The Tata Motors Group global sales, comprising of Tata, Tata Daewoo and Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with distributed brands in India, and Jaguar and Land Rover, were 86,705 numbers in October 2010, a growth of 18 per cent over October 2009,'' it said in a statement. Cumulative sales April-October 2010 stood at 598,639 units, higher by 44 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2009-10. Sales of commercial vehicles were 40,750 numbers in October 2010, a growth of 20 per cent and sales for April-October 2010 grew by 52 per cent at 274,323 units over the same period last year.

Sales of passenger vehicles registered a growth of 17 per cent at 45,955 units in October 2010 and the cumulative sales recorded a growth of 39 per cent at 324,316 units.

Jaguar Land Rover global sales in October 2010 were 18,845 vehicles, higher by 12 per cent over the same month last year.

Jaguar sales for the month were 3,219, lower by 19 per cent, while Land Rover sales were 15,626, higher by 22 per cent.
