General Motors Sep sales up 13 pc at 8,617 units

Car-maker General Motors India today announced that its sales have recorded a growth of 13 per cent at 8,617 units in September 2010 against 7,654 units in same month last year.

The increase in the sales was primarily driven by the response to Chevrolet Beat, Cruze and Spark, the company said in a statement.

The company has sold 2,753 units of compact car Beat, 2,424 units of Spark and 847 units of Cruze.

It also sold 1,578 units of the Tavera, 325 units of Aveo, 287 units of Aveo U-VA, 236 units of Optra and 167 units of the Captiva, it added.

''We are excited by the continued overwhelming response to Chevrolet Beat, Spark and Cruze,'' Vice President GM India P Balendran said. ''Introduction of best-in-segment cars from the 300 series, increase in customer outreach through distribution network, our unique value proposition like Chevrolet Cashless Ownership offer and our promise to deliver quality and performance are the factors that have led to the impressive sales,'' he added.
