Ford India to introduce 8 new variants

Ford India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, will introduce 8 new variants within next five years, company President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said today.

Announcing the all India launch of 'Ford Endeavour 4x2' automatic here, he said, ''India is a growing market and we want to capitalise by introducing eight new variants by middle of next decade.'' He said at present the company has 20 per cent market share in premier segment and this year from January to August the growth was 68 per cent with more than 350 units sold every month. The market segment for SUVs priced between Rs 15 to 20 lakh has nearly quadrupled, year-on-year, for the same period and offers tremendous growth opportunities.
