Bajaj auto sets 50 percent growth target this fiscal

Bajaj Auto has set a target of 50 percent growth in fiscal 2010-11 and sell 300,000 motorcycles per month from May, a top company official said here Tuesday.

"Now we are looking at a growth of 50 percent in motorbike sales from this month. Our average monthly sales will be three lakh units from May," chief executive officer (two- wheeler) S. Sridhar said.

He said the company had achieved average sales of 2.09 lakh a month in 2009-10.

The company's marketshare in India increased to 27 percent in the fourth quarter of 2009-10 from 17 percent in the corresponding quarter of 2008-09
