Hero Honda FY11 sales up 17 pc
Two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) today announced that its sales has registered a jump of 17 per cent to 54,02,444 units in the fiscal year 2010-11 as compared to 46,00,130 units sold in the same period last fiscal.

Its sales for March 2011 also soared by 24 per cent to 5,15,852 two-wheelers as comapred to 4,14,638 units sold in the same month in 2010, the company said in a statement. "We are delighted with this year's sales performance, far surpassing our initial guidance of five million. Our growth rate is reflective of our strategic and marketing prowess, which has ensured our sustained market leadership." Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer Hero Honda Motors Ltd Mr Pawan Munjal said.

He said during the the just concluded fiscal year, Hero Honda has launched seven new models across segments, comprising a mix of new models, variants and refreshes. Besides the launch of the new Super Splendor and Hunk, the festive season last year also witnessed the launch of a new bike from Hero Honda, the Splendor Pro, featuring biggest-ever changes in our marquee model Splendor, he added. He said towards the end of the fiscal year, the company also launched a refreshed new Karizma, which comes with a bouquet of new features including new design stripes and colors, new seat texture and winkers with clear lens. Monthly sales of Pleasure during the fiscal crossed the 30,000 units threshold, he added
