| Bentley launches Continental
GT at Rs 1.9 cr

With a view to further intensify the race in India's super premium car
segment which is growing at around 30 per cent every year, British
car-maker Bentley today launched its luxury sedan-- Continental GT at Rs
1.9 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). "India is growing fast in the luxury
automobile space. We hope to achieve a sales figure of 100 units here from
our entire range by next year," Bentley Regional Director (India)
Chris Buxton told reporters here.
The company expects to sell about 45 units in India in this year where as globally, it is targeting to sell 7,000 units in 2011. "Bentley's sales in India are growing at around 45 per cent every year," he added. Mr Buxton said the Indian super luxury car market is estimated to be around 600-700 units this year. The Continental GT which is a 2-door offering is powered by a 12-cylinder engine and can reach a top speed of 318 km per hour, the car maker said. The company currently sells its products trough two dealerships in the country, based in New Delhi and Mumbai. |
