Car manufacturer Ford today unveiled its much awaited premium sedan, the all new Fiesta and expects the car to drive in large volumes which will not only help the company to expand its market share but also emerge as a leading player in the Indian automotive sphere.

"The all new Fiesta will fuel growth for us as it will be a segment leading product in India with intuitive first in class smart features and fuel economy that raises the bar in every way," Ford India Managing Director and President Michael Boneham told reporters here while showcasing the latest offering from the company.

The four-door premium sedan is powered by the new top of the line Ti-VCT petrol and TDCi diesel powertrains developed for India.

The new sedan will also come equipped with Cruise Control that adds to ease of driving and is a first for its segment. "The introduction of the Fiesta further supports our One Ford strategy of providing full family of vehicles that lead in safety, quality, fuel efficiency and innovative technology," Mr Boneham added.

The new Fiesta, which will be built at Ford's Maraimalai Nagar plant, is the first model to be introduced under the plan announced by the company last year to launch eight new global Ford vehicles to India by the middle of the decade.
