German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz today launched
SLK 350 , a two-seat sports car, in India at a price of Rs 61.90 lakh. The
latest roadster, which is the third-generation Mercedes Benz SLK, is
powered with 3.5L V6 engine that will generate 302 bhp. Launching the
model in the capital, Mercedes-Benz India Director (Sales and Marketing)
Debashis Mitra said the car is competitively priced at Rs 61.90 lakh
(ex-showroom Delhi). The car is equipped with Magic Sky Control feature,
that allows the driver to convert the opaque roof of SLK convertible to
transparent with the touch of a button. Mr Mitra said for the first time
the car comes with panoramic vario-roof. Top speed of the V-shaped car is
250 km per hour. The new SLK 350, available in 10 colours, will be
retailed through the company dealerships across the country. Talking about
the market, the Director said the sports car segment has the potential to
grow by 300-400 cars per year. With this, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK will
be available in three variants, SLK 200, SLK 250, and SLK 350.
