Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) today said its total sales, including exports
accelerated by 28 per cent to 57,080 vehicles during the month of November
2011. The company had sold as many as 44,540 units during the corresponding
month last year. HMIL s domestic sales rose by 11 per cent to 35,000 units
for the month under review, against 31,540 units in November 2010. Exports
surged by 70 per cent to 22,080 units during the month, as compared to
13,000 units in the corresponding month last year. In a challenging market,
we have been able to grow volumes and market share on the strength of
our new launches -- Verna and Eon. Our immediate outlook on the market
is not too bright as interest rates and fuel prices are unlikely to soften
in the forseeable future, HMIL director (marketing and sales) Arvind Saxena
said in a statement. During the month, the automaker sold 48,732 units
in A2 segment (Eon, Santro, i10, i20), 8,223 units in A3 Segment (Accent
and Verna), 122 units of Santa Fe (SUV), and three units in A5 segment
(Sonata Transform). |
