Domestic passenger car sales increased by seven per cent to 171,131 units in November, 2011, as compared to 159,939 units in the same month last year, according to data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) today. Motorcycle sales in the country has increased by 22.67 per cent to 869,070 units during the reported month from 708,476 units in the corresponding month last year, it showed. According to data total two-wheeler sales grew by 25.27 per cent to 1,163,294 units last month from 928,660 units in November, 2010. Sales of commercial vehicles increased by 34.99 per cent to 66,264 units in the month under review from 49,087 units in the same period last year, it added. Total sales of vehicles across categories registered a jump of 22.22 per cent to 1,489,714 units in November from 1,218,885 units in the same month last year, it added.
