The company had sold 54,320 cars in 2009. Commenting on the sales for the year 2010, company deputy managing director (marketing) Sandeep Singh said, ''We are very happy with the response we have received from our customers in 2010.'' He said the company is looking forward to launch hatchback 'Liva' in the domestic market in April this year. The company sells the sedans, Toyota Corolla Altis and Camry, along with the multi-utility vehicle Innova. Toyota also reopened bookings for 'Fortuner' which holds 57 per cent market share in the mid SUV (sports utility vehicle) segment. The bookings were last reopened on July 2010 for a month. The company has sold over 15,000 units of the Fortuner since its launch in August 2009. Mr Singh said the first batch of over 400 units of Etios, launched last year, has been dispatched to the dealerships and ''we have begun delivering vehicles to the customers'' |
