Nissan India to increase dealerships to 100 by 2013

Carmaker Nissan Motor India today announced that it will increase its dealership strength from current 22 to over 100 dealers by 2013. ''We are planning to increase the number of dealers up to 100 across the country by 2013,'' company managing director and chief executive officer Kiminobu Tokuyama said in a statement.

He was speaking while opening new dealerships in Aurangabad and Rajkot, the first dealerships in Marathwada and Saurashtra regions respectively.

Mr Tokuyama said the opening of Shirin Nissan dealership in Aurangabad and IB Nissan dealership in Rajkot marks the company's dealership expansion strategy to reach commercial coverage in more than 52 per cent of the national territory. At present, the company has a total of 22 dealers in 13 States of the country. Nissan Motor India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan's Nissan Motor Ltd, offers hatchback Nissan Micra, luxury sedan Nissan Teana, SUV Nissan X-Trail and sports car Nissan 370Z.
