Market leader Maruti Suzuki today unveiled its compact SUV XA Alpha at the Auto Expo 2012 here. In the concept car, the Alpha represents trendiness and newness that the youth connects to. The A signifies that this compact, 4 mt long concept, is designed for customer wishing to enter the utility vehicle segment. The X denotes cross-over category. Unveiling the concept XA alpha, Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Shinzo Nakanishi said, India expects to become one of the top automobile market of the world... Maruti Suzuki will lead India s automobile group and evolution by sending its compact car portfolio, entering new segment and creating new product categories across fuel options. Mr Nakanishi said the concept car is designed for a market of customers with a young urban lifestyle. The concept showcases the unified R&D efforts of Suzuki and Maruti. He did not disclose the time-frame for the launch of this product. He did not divulge the investment detail of the product.
