Mahindra to bring back few XUV500s to replace parts

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (M&M) has announced that a few XUV500 sport utility vehicles needed servicing by replacing certain parts. The company’s logo is for recalling vehicles in being put into practice. India’s utility vehicle market leader announced, ‘’this approach is mainly customer-centric and along with following the procedure of compliance with the voluntary code on vehicle recall.’’

The recall is centred on XUV500s manufactured in 2011 and 2012. There have been recalls even overseas pertaining to following the trend with the headquartered policy. Indian auto makers actually stopped calling replacements of worn out parts till the voluntary code was brought about in July 2012.

This recall of XUV500 is based on the code. In December 2011, Tata Motors Ltd offered a free service of sealing over 70,000 units of the Nano due to instances of fire, but the company did not brand this process a recall. Toyota Motor Corp’s India unit brought back 8,700 units of Corolla Altis and Camry due to a global recall announced by the headquartered firm in October 2012.

M&M will focus on replacing three parts such as the fluid hose; the front power window units and left wiper blade cover which was absolutely free of cost. The customers will be contacted by the company. The XUV500 was unveiled in India in September 2011 and has contributed roaring profits of 5,000 units per month.

The code emphasises the requirement to re-invite a worn out and defective vehicle, the logo is also referred to two-wheeler, car or commercial vehicle. A society has been established called Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) lobby group which requires auto makers to display the complete information of their designed vehicle on the website. This information will also be showcased by concerned government ministries such as ministry of heavy industries.

The XUV500 has been performing remarkably with sales since its launch, Mahindra and Mahindra has grabbed a strong global foothold in the automobile industry since the launch of XUV500. The company has introduced five variants with the XUV500. The XUV500 is built from scratch and has contributed a significant position in India and overseas. The car was originally christened W201 and the XUV500 name was released before its launch on September 29th.

The car is pronounced as Mahindra XUV500 with the last 00 pronounced as alphabet OO, which is an indication of activeness and swiftness and is also tagged with the brand as one of the fastest SUV. Mahindra has designed the SUV after extensive research and survey that was conducted even in various western markets besides India. The car has undergone clinical trials in Europe, Australia and South Africa. After its launch in India, the XUV500 will be marketed in South Africa.

The XUV500 is indeed a strong market player originated in India and is performing marvellously in the overseas market. The recalling of vehicles is an indication of Mahindra and Mahindra’s commitment to cater to the needs of consumers besides manufacturing impressive and efficient cars.
