Maruti Suzuki sells 96062 units
in October

Maruti Suzuki, the country's largest car maker posted a sales growth of 1.91 per cent in October 2013. The company has sold 1,05,087 units as against 1,03,108 in the same month last year. The domestic sales has increased marginally during the month to 96,062 units compared to 96,002 vehicles in October last year. While the Indo Japanese automaker may have had marginal increase in terms of overall numbers, its individual line up excluding the Swift Dzire and their van line up (Omni and Eeco) have all struggled. The Dzire sold 17211 units as compared to 14389 units in October 2012 while the Omni and Eeco together did 9786 units as compared to 8791 units in the corresponding period last year. The utility vehicles including Gypsy, Grand Vitara and Ertiga also registered a decline of 2.2 per cent. The company sold 7,236 UVs in October this year as against 7,400 units in the corresponding month last year. Sales of vans including Omni and Eeco, rose by 11.3 per cent to 9,786 units in October this year as against 8,791 units in the same period of the previous year. Maruti Suzuki exports also registered an increase of 27 per cent to 9,025 units as compared to 7,106 units in October last year. |
