Nissan kicks off rivalry against
Renault Duster with Terrano
|
Nissan has kicked off rivalry against the Renault duster with the launch of its new car, Terrano. The suspension setup is the same, the Terrano comes with the same engine options as the Duster - the 1.6 L petrol puts out 102.6 bhp and 1.5 L Diesels which put out 84 and 110 bhp. There's a new bumper and an all-new grill with a Nissan badge, a sharper nose, door panels, and some dashes of chrome here and there. However, it's the interiors, which despite not having received too much from the Nissan designers, still manage to look good, FHM reported. The AC vents have shape shifted from rectangle to circles, the audio controls behind Duster's steering wheel have been replaced with thin air and the plastic doesn't flap about quite as much as that of Duster's dashboard. But the real difference between the cars shows when the Terrano drives like two different cars with and without Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). The 110 is a little slow off the block and needs downshifting on crowded sections of the highway, though it is comfortable cruising even at 160 km ph |
