Overview - Hyundai Accent |
Accent GLE, a product of Hyundai motors has been designed keeping in mind the customer's expectations from a true luxury sedan.
The Accent comes with a smooth blend of designs, deluxe drims and exclusive upholstery. The passenger cabin is an original three-box design and is protected by reinforced steel sections in the front and back, dual side-impact bars on all doors and large crumple zones in the front and rear. The Accent has been Crash tested to conform global safety norms and provides optimum driver and passenger safety. Six spoke full wheel covers give the Accent a distinctively sporty look.
Hyundai’s 1.5 Petrol Engine features multi-point fuel injection and come with a state of the art microprocessor for precise fuel delivery, high velocity air intake and exhaust ports, tumble airflow, dual intake valves, asymmetric rockers, harmonically balanced cranks and ignition spark timing. These help make a cleaner burning engine and reduced emissions. Its 1.5 SOHC in-line-4-cylinder engine delivers 94 ps of power and 12.5 kgm of torque, offering superior refinement and drivability that is a benchmark for cars in its class. This engine is light and more environment friendly due to the use of new materials such as space-age plastic and lightweight aluminum resulting in enhanced fuel-efficiency.
Accent gives good driving position with all round visibility. Day and night inside rear view mirror is an added safety advantage. The steering column is fully collapsible and minimises the risk of chest injuries in the event of a frontal impact.
In spite of all these positive features, like all the other cars, Accent also have some negative aspects. Engine needs constant down gear shifts at heavy traffic. The speeds recommended by Hyundai are: 1st - 2nd : 0-20 km/h, 2nd - 3rd: 20-35 km/h, 3rd - 4th: 35-50 km/h and 4th - 5th: 50-60 km/h. It is difficult to drive in second gear on uphill roads and needs frequent gear shift. Rear seat legroom is not comfortable for tall people more than 6 ft high.
