India's number one carmaker, Maruti Suzuki unveiled
its much-awaited premium compact car, Ritz that is available in both petrol
and diesel. Ritz will be the first passenger car in India to be submissive with
the BS-IV emission norms and the fifth global model for Maruti Suzuki. Ritz
adopts a modern European design and gives a friendly appearance with its striking
looks and well-designed headlamps. Maruti Ritz has been launched in five models:
Petrol: Lxi, Vxi, Zxi and Diesel: Ldi, Vdi.
The main features of the Ritz comprises the Fuel-efficient
K12M engine, Two front airbags, Attractive looks, Bharat Stage IV Compliant,
Well-designed Headlamps, ABS Brakes, Fog Lights, Power windows and mirrors,
Central locking and Smart Distributor Less Ignition (SDLI) system. With an overall
width of 1.68 meters, the design of the Ritz is 8 cm wider than the Wagor R.
Its rear end has allowed for a thicker C-pillar and made provision for a smaller
quarter glass, which is not very different from the swift. Smartly shaped headlights
combined with a trapezoidal grille form a “face” which reflects
the new Suzuki family identity.
The Maruti Ritz is available with two different engine options:
a brand new K-series 1.2 litre, four-cylinder, 85PS Petrol engine and the super-successful
1.3 litre, 16-valve DDiS, 75PS Diesel engine. Both the engines offer an optimum
performance and fuel efficiency. The suspension of the vehicle with a ground
clearance of 170 mm has been tuned for Indian road conditions. The 1248cc Diesel
engine develops a maximum power of 75 bhp and all these engines will be mated
to a 5-speed gearbox.
The interior made of high quality materials and a metallic-silver
border on the centre console provides a fresh atmosphere to the passengers.
Ritz has a comfortable seating arrangement. All the seats are comfortable with
enough leg space. The rear seat is positioned higher than the front seat so
that all the passengers will get a good view out. There is plenty of storage
space including a flip-lid box on top of the dashboard, a fair glove box and
a tray ahead of the front passenger, but non-slip surfaces would make them more
usable.
Ritz is available in eight colours- Superior White, Silky Silver,
Fire Brick Red, Bakers Chocolate, Racing Green, Blue Blaze, Midnight Black and
Glistening Grey. Targeting the upper and middle class families, Maruti Suzuki has designed the car with style, design, comfort, savings and space.
